Serpodile introduces an innovative approach to learning cursive handwriting by breaking down the alphabet into 13 fundamental shapes, such as circles and candy canes, with clear visual and auditory guidance. The method emphasizes correct letter formation, requiring children to focus and slow down to carefully trace each letter from start to finish.

The application interface features several supportive elements:

<li>A colorful frame that aids spatial orientation, differentiating ground and sky, as well as start (green) and end (red) points.</li>
<li>Displays either a letter or a basic shape for the child to replicate.</li>
<li>Provides verbal instructions for drawing each element.</li>
<li>Includes arrows indicating the starting point and dots marking the ending point.</li>
<li>Maintains a minimalistic design that fosters focus; the interface auto-hides during drawing to minimize distractions.</li>
</ul>

The app monitors the child's drawing accurately. If the tracing is incorrect, it offers immediate correction until the correct form is achieved. This ensures a thorough understanding of proper letter formation.

Developed and evaluated in collaboration with occupational therapists, this method is particularly beneficial for children with special needs such as dyspraxia and autism, although it also supports those simply learning cursive writing for the first time.
